In House Renovation Part VII Bamboo for an outside scaffold was cut at the brother’s house.

Inside, the walls for the toilet were bricked and the gap in the outer wall was closed.

Now some of the outer walls are being plastered. The front door made of solid teak wood was delivered by the carpenter.

After we had extended the lower floor of the house with a living room, Lola Gerlinda wanted to renovate the upper floor as well.

Then her daughter Liuva (Bheng), who is currently working in Hong Kong, had the idea to help her with this, because one day she will get this part of the house. I said, “If you renovate this and don’t put a concrete ceiling on top of it, the whole renovation will be a total loss. So why not do it all together and create a roof garden with a studio on the concrete ceiling. The idea was well received and so the adventure of a major renovation began.

Here it becomes clear that even a Filipino domestic worker and nanny (Yaya) in Hong Kong can get her own house with her work if she has a responsible partner for the work at home. In this case Bheng has her mother Gerlinda who supervises and does everything or has it done.

It was planned to have an extra table in the piggery compound for slaughtering.

Help came with Jun² and he brought with him more help from Talisayan.

Breakfast was prepared and consumed right at the construction site. There was enough time for family bonding, once the job was done.

Next day was the day to say good-byes again and see you next week again.

That is what in our little happy family is called “helping each other”!

Our pigs need a place for fattening.

We want for 10 saws each to have a pigsty for herself. That’s almost done and need only some changes, but we have to build a place for the young ones until they are ready to become lechon or for slauthering and to become LOLA GERLINDA’S HOMEMADE FOOD PRODUCTS like tasteful Longanzina, Tocino or Burger Patties.

The very old and first pigsties to the left have been converted to have space to prepare two lechons at once. Beside it is a workplace to prepare the feeds and other purposes.
