Hello, we are Gerlinda and Dieter Sokoll. Gerlinda is Filipina and Dieter is German. Since the KNIGHTS OF RIZAL have bestowed the knighthood on Dieter in Decemter 2017, he is called Sir Dieter and with this privilege comes, that Gerlinda is called Lady Gerlinda. Close family and friends call her Gerlyn. We are living in the City of Cagayan de Oro, the city of Golden Friendship. This is our blog, where we post our photos, videos and stories about family, life, travels and our LOLA GERLINDA'S FLOWER SHOP. The reason for this is, that Gerlinda's Hobby shifted from raising pigs to plants and flowers. Because of African Swine Fever she had to stop raising pigs. We both love dogs. That's the reason why a few large dogs are family to us. There are the the German Shepard ladies Bouney and Daisy and our young mixed boy Bravo, daughter of Bouney, who has a Belgian Shepard Malinois as father and is lightly handicapped. At the other end of the house we are having some local cats, they adopted us or we the cats, who knows.
Since Dieter is an active member and by now an elected officer of the KNIGHTS OF RIZAL, Gerlinda becomes more and more involved with the social life in Cagayan de Oro City as Lady Gerlinda.
We had a courtesy call at the mayor and vice mayor of the Municipality of Jasaan.
First we visited the Hon. Juan A. Po, vice mayor of Jasaan, and after that we had a chat with the Hon. Redentor S. Jardin, municipality mayor of Jasaan.
From here we went to the newly opened SOPHIE RED HOTEL in Jasaan, which is owned by the mayor for a discounted lunch, courtesy of or brod SIR GEREON B. “GERRY” VARGAS.
Gerlinda is making out of the pork skin her crispy and crackling CHICARON, only she knows the procedure of drying and frying.

Dieter is doing some internet works with his own operated websites. There is the DIE PHILIPPINEN IM VIDEO website. Here he collects and publishes videos about the Philippines and also some of his own video work.
The header photos are mostly beautiful Filipinas, somehow the beauty of the Filipinas has to be shown, and he thinks that is the right place.
The language of the website is German, but most videos are in English. So don’t hesitate to watch some interesting videos of the Philippines.
It is not easy to find acceptable videos, because the video world belongs to great part to vloggers, and vloggers tend in an 8-minute video to talk blabla for 5 minutes and show sometimes for 2 minutes a nice footage and using the last minute to beg for subscriptions and likes.
Today is Wednesday. A day like any other day in the life of Gerlinda & Dieter. There are no new or special incidents to record or to report.
Gerlinda gives the Mama sows a morning shower as every morning. They really wait for it and when she not comes in time, they start asking for it by screaming.
Today was the day, we had from two Mama sows to separate the piglets. They have started to eat there own feeds a few days ago.
Two groups of piglets in one pigsty. They started a riot. After a while, all is fine an quiet and they have checked it out.
By that time, the guy with the boar has been here and two young sows has been mated. Now we will have to wait about 3 weeks to check if the mating was a success by watching the behaviour of the Mama sows to be.
Later came the technician to check on one of the sows with scours and gave an injection.
One of the Mama sows, our Martha, broke out of her pigsty by destroying the door to look for her piglets we had just taken away from her.
The truck of the ginamos dealer came to pick up the taro. Taro is the name for the tin cans for cooking oil of 16 kgs. We get them from a canteen and collect them for pick up once a month. They are used by removing the cover with the handle to be cleansed and filled with the ginamos, the fermented fish paste.
Meanwhile, our German Shepard lady Bouney has been nursing the three surviving puppies.
So, as everybody can see, it was a Wednesday morning without any special incidents.
